OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (October 26, 2024) – USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, is excited to host its 93rd Annual Council Meeting in Oklahoma City, welcoming Council Members and guests from across the nation. The five-day event, scheduled from October 26–30, 2024, will bring together administrators, players, and tournament hosts to evaluate the organization’s needs, discuss proposed rule changes, and celebrate the achievements of those making a significant impact on the sport.
The festivities begin later today with the 43rd Annual National Softball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where nine individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, recognizing their extraordinary contributions to the sport. This year’s Class of 2024 includes meritorious fast pitch players Charlie Richard and Pete Sandman, standout umpire Michael Wolf, legendary coach Don Cooper, and slow pitch stars Mike Bolen, Cheryl Trapnell, Jody Trimmer, and Andrew Young III. Additionally, the Peterbilt/Pay N Pak team will be inducted for their remarkable achievements in the sport.
The evening’s events will also feature a Hall of Fame Reception, accompanied by a Raffle benefiting the National Softball Hall of Fame and Museum. Guests will have the opportunity to view a pop-up exhibit showcasing important artifacts and future renovation plans for the Hall of Fame.
Following the ceremony, the 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees will be announced, based on votes cast by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee earlier in the day.
Key Events:
- Sunday, Oct. 27: The first General Council Session will take place, where USA Softball President Dave Devine and CEO Craig Cress will address the state of the organization. Council Members will also review and discuss proposed rule and code changes for the 2025 season, with voting scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29.
- Monday, Oct. 28: The annual Trade Show will showcase a variety of exhibitors, including cities bidding for USA Softball National Championships, equipment manufacturers, softball suppliers, and other sponsors and services from across the country.
- Tuesday, Oct. 29: The Wilson Awards Luncheon will honor 2024 National Championship host sites and recognize various USA Softball Council Members for their achievements, such as Years of Service. Later in the day, the final General Council Session will take place, during which proposed rule changes and procedural code updates will be announced. Council Members will also vote to determine the host cities for the 2026 National Championships.
- Wednesday, Oct. 30: The event will conclude with the Board of Directors Meeting, finalizing key decisions and discussions from the Annual Council Meeting.
