OKLAHOMA CITY — The Bear Creek Gremlins claimed the USA Softball Men’s Major National Championship for the 10th time in program history, successfully defending their title at Devon Park.
Championship Series Goes the Distance
The title was decided in a winner-take-all finale on Sunday, July 20. After Hill United Chiefs took the first game of the championship series with a 7–1 victory, a second game was needed to determine the national champion.
Gremlins Seal the Title in Game Two
Bear Creek responded with a 6–4 win in the decisive matchup to secure their 10th national crown. Three Gremlins earned All-America honors: pitcher Jack Besgrove, outfielder Ben Enoka, and infielder Cole Evans, who was also named Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Dominant Run Through the Tournament
Over six games in Oklahoma City, the Gremlins finished with a 5–1 record and allowed just one run before the championship series. They outscored opponents 41–12 across the tournament, showcasing elite pitching and consistent offense.
From World Stage to National Champions
The Gremlins roster also featured three players and a coach who recently represented the U.S. Men’s National Team at the WBSC Men’s World Cup Finals. Pitcher Cody Gibbons, infielder Erick Ochoa, catcher Nick Mullins, and assistant coach Greg Hicks moved from winning bronze internationally to capturing a national title with Bear Creek within weeks.
